Season’s Greetings

It took a while this year but I am finally starting to delight in winter citrus, pine wreaths, deep dark evenings, and an abundance of peppermint-themed desserts. 'Tis the season, merry, merry.

Just last week I realized that the box of family Christmas decorations my father had wasn't discovered during our big clean out in September. I vaguely remember hearing him tell me he couldn't find the box a couple years ago, but I assumed it was simply "lost" yet safe in the garage, along with a lifetime of memories and, frankly, so much crap.

We lose things. Things go missing. We miss the lost things.

Losing a box of Christmas decorations is oddly jarring and heartbreaking. So much nostalgia gets wrapped up in the trappings and memories of this particular time of year, and this way of celebrating and connecting with the people we love. I remember angel-shaped tea light holders that belonged to my mother, handmade ornaments from my primary school days, a giant pink rat that squeaked and would always hang out under the Christmas tree. We lose all things. Even the memories go missing, eventually. So much of this life is a constant practice in letting go...and then creating and building...and then letting go, again.

Looking ahead to the new year--and I am really looking forward to the new year!--I'm switching things up and offering a 10-day Metagenics cleanse rather than the 21-day Standard Process Purification Program I normally lead. It's very similar--whole foods, daily shakes, supplements that support liver detox pathways--but a little shorter and simpler (yay). Self-paced so start any time in January, but if you tell me your start date I'll be sure to check in with some supportive emails. The products are currently on sale through Fullscript (normally $139, looks like $125 for a limited time). Pick your flavor (I prefer vanilla) and decide if you want to add in extra probiotics and omegas (I always do). Link here to purchase.

Our lovely massage therapist Alexandra is back from leave, and has openings on Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoon/evenings. We're offering $10 off massage sessions in December as a holiday gift to you--you can book online here. Incidentally, I would love to have more bodyworkers sharing the space, so if you know of any bodyworkers looking for treatment space to rent please send them my way!

As a reminder I'm also holding Community Acupuncture space on Tuesday afternoons. Sliding scale $65-85, two tables and two chairs available. Reserve your spot here. I've also decided to offer New Year's Tarot Readings, and I'm pretty excited about it. $90 for a thirty-minute reading covering what you're coming out of and what you're heading towards. I happen to think this makes a great gift as well, so contact me if you'd like to purchase a reading for a loved one, or book a slot online here (only available for a short time, obvi).

There is so much joy to be had this time of year but also so much stress and chaos. It's important to slow down and get grounded during this season (and always). And on that note, I'll be away from the office December 21-27, communing with nature and a fluffy Norwegian Forest cat up in Inverness. If your body needs a tune up please come in before I depart.

Happy holidays.
