What is Abundance?
I recently announced my Abundance Boot Camp.
I specifically chose the word "abundance" for this experience, although I definitely want to focus specifically on wealth and money throughout the journey.
But building wealth and financial resources without cultivating a sense of abundance creates a hungry ghost. You never quite have enough. You're always chasing, longing, desiring, comparing. There's always more to have, be, and do and never a sense of contentment or gratitude.
Ultimately, I want you to have freedom. And freedom, in the case of your finances, means you aren't trapped in a cycle of longing and also that you have enough material resources to meet your needs and live a life filled with joy. You live in a state of financial flow.
We often say people have "money blocks" when financial flow isn't happening.
Money blocks can look like...
Extreme debt, including student loans
Being stuck at a pay grade or income level and not being able to break through
Resentment towards wealth and wealthy people
Bringing in a lot of money but never having enough saved to take care of your needs
Not allowing yourself to make large or small purchases that would bring you joy and expansion
Feeling the need to hoard resources and fear or lack whenever you spend money
Making financial decisions from a place of fear or panic
And abundance looks like...
Extraordinary gratitude for what you have
Deep presence and contentment with the things, situations, and people that bring you joy
Freedom to make purchases that you are excited about
Ability to live comfortably
Ability to travel comfortably
A sense of flow as you take in money and spend money joyfully
A sense of security as you consider your future financial needs
Generosity in sharing your wealth with others
So what do you do about money blocks?
Abundance Boot Camp is a great starting place!
The key to working through your money blocks is identifying the limiting belief or beliefs at the root of your behaviors.
What were you taught about money as a child? What did your parents model for you? What messages did you get about what it was ok to spend money on and what was extravagant? What did you believe about people who had wealth?
And then fast forward a little—what did you learn about wealth in your teens and twenties? Was it easy to make money, or did you feel like you always had to do more to earn fair compensation?
And now fast forward a little more: what kind of relationship to money do your closest friends have? Your partner? Your childen’s friend’s parents? What do these people expect when it comes to spending and saving? If you made more money or lived a more abundant lifestyle would that threaten any of these relationships?
We’ll do all this and more, but you can start answering these questions yourself with a journal or a therapist and see what content you uncover. Once you see the belief there are tools to help you create a new belief that’s more in alignment with the life and wealth you want to create!
Have fun with the process, and if you’re interested in joining us sign up before October 15!
